The Desert

These images made in the Mojave Desert are social landscapes, portraying the effects of humans in an environment, creating a human-altered landscape. They explore the intersection of culture, history and politics within the context of the passing of time. A common impression of the desert is wilderness; however, man’s impact can be seen in these photographs. These images incorporate the natural landscape, but they are most distinctly not about the natural world.
